Our History
Sigma was born in 1969 as the fusion between various companies. Previously known as Yarhi S.A, it merged with other companies with the same interests, among them Cartonera S.A., Rotoflex S.A., and Industrias Gráficas Salvadoreñas S.A.. Hence its name, as the Greek letter sigma describes an integral, which was what was being done in practice: integrating interests and integrating companies. Through the years, this vision has expanded: 13 companies and 7 sales offices in El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, Dominican Republic and the U.S. are consolidated under one name.

All sales offices in Central America, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic market distinct packaging and personal expression manufacturing lines. EDP/Sigma Comercial in El Salvador is an authorized Hewlett-Packard distributor, serving the corporate market. It offers personal computers, HP Proliant servers, printers, connectors and peripherals, and integrated hardware and software solutions through its partnership with Microsoft.

Corrugated Packaging
|
|
We make corrugated flute board “C,” microcorrugated flute board “E,” double-walled, laminated cardboard chips, slip-sheets, and microcorrugated displays. Now we also offer alternatives to waxed corrugated boxed, whose advantages include: a moisture-resistant barrier, an anti-compression format, 100% recyclable, lighter than waxed corrugated and it meets the European Union’s, the U.S.’s, and the FDA’s (Food and Drug Administration) environmental requirements.

Flexible Packaging
|
|
We make single polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, cellophane, or PET laminations and more complex triple or quadruple laminations incorporating aluminum foils and/or paper, or metallized, printed on rotogravure or flexographic plates.

Folding Carton, etc.

We make folding boxes for manual assembly, boxes for mechanical packing with high speed, precision packing machines, precision labels for high-speed automatic labeling machines with finishes that range from gloss and matte water-based varnishes to high-gloss ultra-violet varnishes to hot-stamping and metallic foil.

Luxury Bags
|
|
We manufacture personalized or generic luxury bags as well as multi-wall bags. Luxury bags enhance advertising for the many department stores and boutiques that use them and are ideal for cosmetics, perfumes, clothing, and accessories. Different types of finishes include matte or gloss lamination, embossing or hot-stamping.

Paper Mill
|
|
At our paper mill, we use cellulose fibers and recycled raw materials and convert them into international quality sheet paper or rolls of solid cardboard or recycled kraft paper to fulfill the need for environmental protection.

Plastic Packaging
|
|
One of the most comprehensive die and tool shops in Central America and the Caribbean, which allows us to manufacture molds and forms essential for the production of containers. Through injection and blowing processes, we convert PET, PVC, and polyethelene into plastic containers. We also manufacture threaded or pressure tops or caps for different types of containers, with or without security rings. If the customer so desires, we print informative labels or logos directly on the containers by means of a modern serigraphy process that uses conventional and ultraviolet inks that put the finishing touch on the containers.

Reproduction and Prepress
|
|
We also offer services in packaging design, development and pre-press for all printing systems, color separation, scanning, image retouching and digitalization, film development and preparation of flexographic plates.
